Paradigm Shift

Yin and Yang
Over time we are supposed to mold ourselves into sculptures rather than be a lump of clay. Every year our personality is forced to shift because life events occur. An antiphony can strike you like lighting.  The view on life constantly changes, so we need to learn to adapt. If we never went through changes, we wouldn’t reach our potential sculpture form. Some people are afraid of a personality changes because they fear what they could become. I feared my personality change until Tarah walked into my life my junior year of high school.
My junior high years through my sophomore year of high school, I was a people pleaser. I thought having tons of friends would make me a livelier person, but it didn’t. I would do anything in my power to make things right, when I made wrong. I thought my compassion was a generous act, but instead was taken advantage of. I never asked for anything in return because I thought it was selfish and inconsiderate.
My sophomore year I decided to take a risk and ask for something. I wanted to ask if my girlfriends could come over and have a chat. The relationships between the girls and I was crumbling, and I wanted us to stay together. So I sent a text message asking if we could meet at my house later that day. My intentions was for everyone to understand of one another and once be united again. I wanted peace with everyone, but instead I received negative responses. I had text messages saying I wanted to cause drama and chaos. One person in particular person replayed with how I was selfish, stuck up, and immature. She didn’t want to be friends anymore because I showed these characteristics often. I was crushed because I thought it was true. I believed the negative comments until my junior year in high school.
Tarah and I were friends, but not best friends. Tennis was right around the corner, so I asked if Tarah would join the tennis team with me. She was worried because it was her first year playing and it would be my third. I told her tennis was fun and she would enjoy it. After try outs Tarah and I teamed up and became tennis partners for the season. We became close during the tennis season because we would practice together. Tarah and I had to learn how to blend because she was my complete opposite. Tarah spoke her mind while I didn’t. She isn’t a push over like me. For an example if you decided to punch her in the arm then she would turn around and slug you ten times harder. But I’d take all the throws you threw. Tarah helped me stand up for myself when people treated me wrong. She told me I shouldn’t have to please my friends 24/7 just because I fear of losing them. She pushed me into uncomfortable situations, but I grew from them. Tarah intellectually and emotionally pushed me into the person I am today. When we disagreed, we thoroughly talked about it until we came to an understanding. We often referred ourselves to yin and yang because of how we balanced each other out.

For so long I believed friendship was to give 110% while the other gave 10%. Tarah showed me a friendship isn’t like how I believed. She showed me a friendship should contain an equal amount of effort. Tarah encouraged me to come out my shell to be an outspoken women. She was honestly the best friend I ever had. I had changed for the better because of Tarah, so thank you Tarah. I’ve now been sculpted into the women I was meant to be, but I’m not done yet. I still need work, but for now I’m happy.

College Life

Welcome again critters!
Well here I am once again ranting about life... OH I mean blogging about stuff you may not care about! Anyway I'd like to say, "I finally got into the class I've wanted to be in since my senior year in high school." YES! Photography! I may not be as creative as the other photographers, but it's relaxing and something to pass the time. I enjoy the feeling as if I can capture a moment in time. Capturing a photo can come with emotions as well and I like to recall them or create feeling. I'm exited. Plus I want to start posting them on my Instagram! I also want to get into YouTube. I mean I've had a YouTube since 6th grade, but only used it to talk to friends. So, this year I really want to get into Vlogging and posting random videos. I have a Twitter, but I don't post anything super interesting. Twitter is more like thoughts running through my mind. But! I'm so excited for College Photography. I was thinking about being a Photo Journalist? Again I really like Photography and Writing about nonsense like I am now. I may not be amazing at it, but to me as long as I'm having fun it really doesn't matter what others think.
Maybe I'll try and find PointlessBlog's book and film his ideas from the book.
Maybe when I get more into my Photography class I can post the pictures I like on Instagram?!
I'm actually exited for this semester!
Well, I have an eyelash appointment tomorrow and then class at 12:30! Wish me luck!

What of it?

Dear Living creatures.
There are days I wish I could tell you to screw off because there are days as if saying in bed was a better choice. Why you may ask? Hmm because my bed gives me warm blanket hugs. Plus I have Netflix at a click of a button, so no reason to jump into my broken down ford escort and drive to red box. Nope. Not at all. But, welcome to the year of 2015 to all you nerds. Guess what?! We didn't die in the 2014 nor 2012... I probably just jinxed this next year to come. Oops. I believe if zombies ever come or anything super scary. Please just get me out of my misery. Oh, and I probably wouldn't even survive the purge.. If, we ever have one. Anyway this year I hope for tons of amazing stuff to happen to you all. I know this year I plan to try and decrease my intake of bull and increase my self worth. Let's bring up other's self esteem rather then push them into a grave hole. Instead of calling someone a monstrous name, call out something pleasurable. No one wants to hear about how their butt is too big, or how their stomach isn't as flat as yours. This year I want to be more considerate of others. I demand others and myself to stand up for people who are being bullied. I was bullied. In first grade I was harassed with the name, "Fat Chinese Lady." It was a name a young gentleman who judged me on my appearance instead of who I was as a person. I was bullied as well by another classmate. She would always sing songs about how I should be hit by a bus like a bug. Something around those areas. Even though it was a weak tease in elementary school it still hurt. If I remember correctly the young boy had to write an apology letter. Also, later I found out my bus bully wanted to be my friend and was only was mean because I didn't sit by her? Hmm. Little kid stuff. But, what I learned that you need to confront people when you have a disagreement. Don't be a bully back to your bully, but try and understand the other before you place judgement. Another few times I was bullied was in middle school. He was a tall Asian guy and played football, so a jock. Yes, he was cute, but his personality made him awful. I can not recall what he said to me in middle school, but my freshmen year in high school is a different story. I had Western Civ with young man and we were all watching an education movie on Buddha ... (Oh how boring education movies are... like I'd rather watch paint dry..oops.) So, this young man decides it would be a bright idea to whisper to my friend about how big my stomach was. He said "I bet if you rub her Buddha belly you'd get lucky." She then quickly told me about his unique findings about my "powers," I contained. Yes, I was pretty upset and I know for a fact I said something back, but I'm not sure what? I just know he was a bully and nothing I said could change that. Name calling hurts. Not like a bee sting. It's more along the line as if someone is holding a torch underneath your hand. It burns and leaves scars. Because of my appearance I've been bullied most of my life. The past is the past and I can't do anything to change it and I wouldn't. It's the great cliche,"the past has made in into the person I am today."

Another point to say today or tonight is one of my co workers is heading off to military school and will be gone for at least a year? I'm not sure about the details. All I know is over last semester of collage I wrote 12 letter with the side comments of my other co workers. The letters contain encouragement and candy to help him through the year? I'm not sure what he thinks of it, but I feel good about myself. I thought it was fun and I thought it would be nice for him to know that he has friends at home cheering him on to succeed. Another thing is he better write me back or else.... Well he doesn't HAVE to, but it would be nice to hear what's going on at camp. I hope he remembers to take them with him.. Hmm I'm not sure. Again I have know clue on how he feels about the letters?

Oh another thing is I'm not totally sure if my "blogs" make sense..? But, I'm just spitting out words as it comes to mind. I probably didn't even use correct grammar or punctuation. Sorry not sorry.
Song I'm currently listening to is "The Heart Wants What it Wants," by Selena Gomez.

Oh and a picture of my cat, Gizmo and I.
Random Selfies.
Plus my bird and I. Got it? Good!

Living

"There's a difference between living and just surviving. Do something you love, and find someone to love who loves that you love what you do. It is really that simple. And that hard."

Shit

The everyday “shit”
In every passing moment a difficult task is placed in our hands and the purpose for the unbearable is to become invisible. There are moments where individuals will use others as a stepping mat, but the only character being judged is the one being abused. In the prompt,”Taking Shit” by Nevada Barr preaches to her readers, “Calm those who needed calming, educate those who needed educating, arrest those who needed arresting.” But, we forgot about the individuals who need to be loved. My story about taking shit is not about employment, dramatic friends, or school, but a desire building up inside the hearts of adopted children.  I yearn to fit in  within society because I’m a misfit toy. I demand to be compelled to dismiss from my mind about being abandon on the orphanage steps. But, the shitty events were placed in my hands for a purpose and it’s an assigned job to build a character for myself.
As a child I’d be astonished by the resemblance children had with their parents and I did not. No, I don’t contain the deep thoughtful blue eyes as my parents, nor do I share a related bloodline. People can point out the misfit every time I snap a photo of my family and I. Welcome to the, “shit,” I observe daily, but let’s spotlight the aspects I absorbed from them. My dad’s personality traits are: compassion, trusting, intelligent, sheltering and good sense of humor. Then my mom’s personality traits are: wise, spiritually strong, responsible, honest, and fearless. Over the years I had slowly developed my own personality traits based on my caregivers and to express them with honor. I don’t resemble my parents, or contain a fraction of my parent’s bloodline, but I am their child. The lack of resemblance is unfortunate, but the brighter side is I, “factored pride and ego out of the mix,” as Mrs. Barr explained.
Sometimes people forget items and then quickly return back to the previous area to retrieve the misplace value. It’s one thing to forget, but to leave a valuable behind never looking back as if it was insignificant. Now, imagine leaving an infant at the orphanage for unwanted children. Did the child do something to cause this cruel act of humanity, or was it was out of the goodness of your heart? This question will forever pass through my thoughts and may never be answered. In the end of the day I had been abandoned by one, but wanted by another. Nevada states, “They give me shit, I take action.” The burden I was given as an infant was not my choice, but my parents took action by wrapping me up in wanting arms.  I received the misery, but my parents firmly latched on to the opportunity to remove it.
Finally, it might be weird to say I appreciate the rotten luck I had. If nothing rotten walked into my life then I wouldn’t be able to build a form of courage to hit them straight on. It is my job to stare evil in its eyes and overwhelm my body with courage  to dismantle negative thoughts to positive. One day I will overcome the unbearable and become invisible. The right thing to do is not to dwell on the negative aspects of our chaos, but to build character and be better tomorrow. Everyday we are judged on the character we decided to present for the day and how we want others view us. Mrs. Barr said, “...spreading as little mayhem and heartburn as possible as my job as a member of this social group…,” in my eyes the more we decide to  kill evil with kindness the more likely we will become a better society. The more likely I could be a better me tomorrow and then the next day after. Spread compassion and love the ones who need to be loved.
